Is your student interested in football? Salem-Keizer’s middle school football programs offer students a safe, fun and memorable experience.

Safety is the focus of Salem-Keizer middle school football. All coaches are skilled in the USA Football Program Heads-Up Training part of which includes concussion prevention techniques, along with this training, students, with parent permission, will test in a program called ImPACT Testing & Computerized Neurocognitive Assessment Tools.  This helps support students and coaches to better manage concussion injuries.  Athletic trainers will monitor and split their time between all middle school football games each week and only a phone call away if needed at another middle school site for support.

Each middle school’s program teaches students the fundamentals of safe play, develops skills, and helps student form friendships that can last a lifetime. Students play on JV or Varsity squads based on skill and experience levels. Students can advance to Varsity as they progress.

Middle school programs are connected to their respective high school programs, so students can smoothly progress to the next level of play. Having this connection also helps ease the transition to high school.

Football in Salem-Keizer middle schools is available to all. Football is a no-cut sport so anyone interested in playing can sign up. Plus, the annual fee is only $45 to participate, or $15 for qualified families.

A free summer football camp for eighth grade students will be held at most middle schools, starting on August 22 through September 1, please contact your middle school for more information.
